We started producing in cooperation with nature in 1989.
Our family company Suncokret is tucked away in a corner of northern Vojvodina in the village of Hajdukovo, on the very same site on which our first products were created.
Suncokret grew from the desire of its founder, Ivan Perčić, to offer consumers vegetarian and macrobiotic health food products, unavailable at the time on the Yugoslav market. The very first products, now widely acclaimed, Virgin Pumpkin Seed Oil and Toasted Sesame Oil were produced (and still are) on a century-old hydraulic press. Pioneers at the time in the field of cold-pressed oil production, as well as initiators of organic farming and food processing, Suncokret today, boasts an assortment of over 60 nutritious, as well as delicious products.
All our products are gluten-free (certified by CESNA) and vegan, except for two (Naturela and Cranberry Bar). They contain no hydrogenated fats and are produced without additives or preservatives. Our line of organic products is certified by the French certifying agency Ecocert. In cases where production involves heating ingredients, this is done at the lowest possible temperatures.
The company’s new brand name Granum (Latin for grain), as well as its novel visual identity, was initiated by Ksenija Perčić, Ivan’s daughter, who joined the company in 2013 after completing her degree in business studies. Only five years later, Granum has become the synonym for a healthier way of life in Serbia. Besides tradition, innovation plays a big part in the creation of every Granum product. The eight product families contain many products that are unique on the market (Raspberry Balsamic Vinegar, Walnut butter, etc). Granum products can be found in Montenegro, Bosnia, the Czech Republic, Qatar and Holland and under private labels in France, Hungary and Great Britain.
Integrity, a key principle of our production process is also at the heart of how we conduct business, as well as our day to day functioning. Suncokret is a family business in which every employee is treated like a member of the family whose contribution is valued and respected.
From its founding Suncokret, has been involved in humanitarian initiatives both in the local and wider community, sponsoring educational, ecological and art manifestations, events and initiatives. We are particularly proud of our long-term cooperation with the Day Centre for Adults with Disabilities in Subotica.
Over the years Suncokret has garnered many local awards and prizes. Most significant among international awards were those awarded by the British Soil Association: a bronze medal for Pumpkin Seed Butter and a gold medal for Walnut Butter. In 2017 Ivan was elected entrepreneur of the year by the daily newspaper Blic in cooperation with Eurobank.

Our products have been exhibited at fairs around the world: Fancy Food, New York; Slow Food, Torino; Grune Woche, Berlin; Organic and Natural Food, London and regularly at the world’s largest organic food fair Bio Fach in Nuremberg.
